Error and/or relief
When a minor is not removed from the custody of the parents, it is error for the court to declare the maximum confinement time the minor faces.
Holding:
Because the court did not remove the minor from the custody of his parents and instead ordered him to reside in his mother’s custody, the court should not have specified a maximum time of confinement in its dispositional order. Accordingly, we will modify the dispositional order to strike the provision setting a maximum confinement time.
